Open Red Alert is an open source engine of Command & Conquer: Red Alert, a popular real-time strategy game that was originally released in the 1990s. Eager programmers have successfully converted the engine to the Amiga platform with versions available for classic Amiga systems and AmigaOS 4.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert is set in an alternate universe in which Albert Einstein changed the course of history in a failed attempt to prevent the horrors of World War II. In removing the threat of Nazi Germany, a conflict arises between the allies and an aggressive Soviet Bloc for control over the Europe. As you play the single player campaign, the story of the conflict unfolds through live action cinematic sequences.
To play Red Alert with this open source engine you will need to download the original game (mix files) from the Electronic Arts website.
