Nearly two months ago it was announced by RBF Software that if a dedicated programmer did not takeover the Amiga conversion of the popular sound tracker the project would be scrapped. Thankfully, a programmer has been found.

Alfred Faust has been named as the programmer who will lead the effort to restart the development of OctaMED SoundStudio. Having been involved in the further development of Bars'n'Pipes, a multimedia MIDI sequencer his experience is more than sufficient to finish the task. He has already evaluated the source code which is said to be “in a good state and good to read” but it may take time before radical adjustments are made.

Donations to the OctaMED SoundStudio project are welcome and can be made in the Amiga section of the RBF Software website.
