Castle Kingdoms

Price: £12.99 UK Pounds Developer/Publisher:Mutation Software Requirements: All

(Castle_Kingdoms)(Castle_Kingdoms)Castle Kingdoms is one of these types of games you don't see often, it's a bit like Gaunlet (on the Spectrum) except with a side on view of the action.

Castle Kingdoms is set in the mystical world of monsters and treasure and is described as a game of battle, magic and adventure.

You have to guide your party of five heroic characters which are an Knight, Princess, Warrior, Elf and a Wizard through the five kingdoms of the sacred Talisman. But you will have to fight against the evil creatures that inhabit each castle.

(Castle_Kingdoms)Your quest is to recover the five magic gem-stones that complete the Talisman which will restore good to all that has been turned evil by the Dark Lord in the Black Castle.

After loading it up you'll get the full story and get to listen to some eerly music. The best way to start is by going to the Options were you can take note of the kets; Space to select the next character of the four and return to use a characters item.

The first level you go up against the Red Castle to get the red fire ruby and unfortunately you'll have to fight pass the many evil monsters. You of course contorl one player and so when you move your other friends will follow you along.

(Castle_Kingdoms)Throughout the game you will mostly be on a platform with stairs, doorways and portals. To open doors you must collect the keys and to open portals you need to hit a lever. Some portals will get you further or will lead into traps or back to the start. There is of course other objects you can collect to help you survive and beat the enemy. An Amulet protects the character, Green Potion increases weapons shot power, Yellow Potion has a random effect when used, Gold Cross has the power to resurrect the dead, Spell Scroll can stop and freeze monstors when used, a Ring destroys all the monstors on the screen and there is plenty more to discover.

(Castle_Kingdoms)The enemy which are hard to kill especially with such a big to control consist of Blobs, monstors that chase after you and others that fire from holes in the wall and more throughout Castle Kindgoms. I found that it was better to loose two members of your team that way you can move around faster and ther is less chance of loosing any more.

The sound is pretty good with thunder in the background at times and the graphics are well detailed but I think that Mutation Software definitely covered the areas that every game should have. Gameplay and Addictation as it has plenty for every gamer to enjoy. The enemy are absolutely everywhere and truely are a big challenge to beat.
